LATE 1990s TACOMA JK50CE KOA ACOUSTIC
IN NEAR MINT CONDITION!
Tacoma Guitars produced some pretty amazing acoustics prior to the company being purchased by Fender in 2004, and this USA-made JK-50CE4 Jumbo Series Koa acoustic is one of the finest models the company ever built. In general, the Jumbo Series from Tacoma is considered one of the company’s most popular lines, and this JK-50CE Koa model is a great example of why they’re so loved.
This acoustic is amazing in every way – style, design, tone, playability, etc. It has a rounded lower bout, slim waist-style body with a single rounded cutaway. The body is constructed with a beautiful solid Sitka Spruce top with stunning Flame Hawaiian Koa back and sides. The round soundhole has Abalone Pearl trim, and the body is surrounded with elegant herringbone purfling and ivoroid binding. The headstock showcases a bound flamed Koa peghead with a Maple “Tacoma” logo inlay. The neck is also Mahogany, with a 14/20-fret Rosewood fingerboard with Abalone Pearl inlays. The bridge is also Rosewood, and the finish is a natural gloss finish that just pops!
This particular example is from the late 1990s. It also has the factory-installed Fishman Prefix Plus piezo pickup system with active EQ, which still works perfectly.
This beautiful Tacoma acoustic was purchased along with a collection of other very fine guitars (Martins, Gibsons, etc.) from a collector who took great pride in his collection. The guitar is all original and in NEAR MINT condition, with only minimal signs of any play wear. If you look closely at the pictures below, you will see the true beauty of this very special and now discontinued model. Bottom line is this guitar sounds and plays amazing … the action is fast and low, and the tone is to-die-for! You won’t find a better acoustic for this price anywhere. We guarantee it.
Also included is the original Tacoma hardshell case with plush dark blue interior.
